Out Here At The Edge Of The World

Nothing in Beth Singer’s young life prepares her for the ordeal that unravels when she visits her father in the supposedly safe and stable Central Asian nation of Isfastan. Kidnapped in a brutal attack, she is forced to make the cruelest of choices if she is to survive – one that will stay with her for the rest of her life, making her question everything she thinks she knows about good and evil, right and wrong.

The first Beth Singer stories were released on Amazon in parts, as each section was completed. These formed three short novels – The Valley Apart, A Subtle Way, and Kushan Empire – which are now combined into a single full length novel, renamed Out Here At The Edge Of The World.

Effra, A Novel

A newcomer to London, Finn moves into a shared flat near Effra Rd, where life seems suddenly full of promise. A new relationship, new friends and a new job press him far beyond his comfort zone. Yet amongst all the promise of this London summer a thread of darkness worms its way. What is driving the group of squatters that eke a living at the city’s fringes? And what is the sinister sense of purpose that’s begun to stir beneath them all? Effra is about modern lives in one of the world’s most ancient cities; a tale of the passion and obsession that can grip you when everything you cherish is at stake.

A standalone novel for adults, Effra tells the story of young Londoners living above buried waters – rivers like the Fleet, the Effra, and the Wandle that loaned their names to the city’s famous streets, and run beneath them still. Inspired by the true story of London’s lost rivers, Effra is a unique book that marries suspense, horror, romance and history into a single gripping tale.
